Unit 31 Encourage your students to have a look at laws from around the world and the students own countries. Although some of the laws may be difficult to understand, with help there shouldnt be much problem. Ask them to find their favourite examples, which they should share with the rest of the group/class. Where possible ask the students to explain the laws using can/must, mustnt. Unit
32 Use these sites to prepare a questionnaire for other students in the class. If your students are mixed nationality students could be asked to prepare have you ever questions about their partners countries/cities. This activity would work just as well in a monolingual situation except the questions would need to be more place-specific. Unit
33 Lots of over cautious advice from the British Foreign office. Theres some very interesting advice in the dos and donts section for certain countries. Very useable with even low level students, you could ask them to rewrite some of the advice using must/mustnt Unit
34 Very impressive resource of pictures, all sorts of images can be uploaded showing a variety of human emotions. Itll take some preparation on the part of the teacher but should be worth while. Search through and find some photographs which could be described using basic adjectives e.g. the person looks angry, happy then encourage your students to describe the actions using adverbs Unit
36 Give your students an imaginary budget and set them shopping tasks. As far as possible encourage them to look for things with a lot of choice clothes, books, CDs and encourage them to select one using will then to justify their choice in feedback. Unit
37 Sites dealing with the weather. Use these to find the current weather in your country or around the world. Use it to make predictions about the weather or to give advice to a friend whos coming to visit you. Unit
38 Ive chosen the 7 wonders but you could choose something different. Although much of the language will be difficult encourage your students to scan the texts to see how many examples of the present simple and past simple passive they can find. Unit
39 Common interview questions most of them are fairly straightforward. Get your students to imagine they were at an interview and they are telling their friends what questions they were asked. |
