& 32 There is a need to be sensitive in this area, but generally everybody has a dream they are happy to tell others about. Put your class into pairs and get student A to tell student B a common or recurring dream they have and vice versa. Then ask them to go to this site and research the possible meaning. Unit
33 I find this is the best search engine to use for this activity. This is a good exercise to use for presentation of the language point. Ask students to type "too+many+people" and ask them to look at the number of matches. Then ask them to type "too+many+person" the number of matches should be much lower. Discuss why this should be. It is also helpful to ask for some examples from the first search and to discuss how the too is used. Unit
34 The day before Day of the Dead comes Halloween. This site has all the basic background and information. Some of the language will be challenging for your learners however, encourage them to focus on the task and they should be ok. Once they have answered some basic comprehension ask them to find examples of the passive, put these on the board and discuss them as an open class i.e. Why is the passive used? How else could the writer have said this? Unit
35 Use these sites as extensions of the final exercise in the course book. Ask your students to browse some of the rules of etiquette for different social functions and to find strange, extreme examples. Ask the groups to report these rules and the rest of the class should vote on whether they are true or false. Unit
36 Loads of sites dealing with the weather. Use these to find the current weather in your country or around the world. Use it to make predictions about the weather or to give advice to a friend whos coming to visit you. Unit
37 The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents is a good source of ideas and tips for preventing many household accidents. Get your students to prepare a safety campaign. They could research causes of common accidents, ways of avoiding these accidents and prepare awareness-raising promotional material. Unit
