Good variety of people doing jobs. You could use these online or even print some of them off to use in the class. Obviously at this stage the language your learners have is limited but by asking a variety of questions they should be able to answer questions such as: Where does s/he work? What’s her/his job? Most are manageable but there are one or two your students might not recognise

List of worldwide telephone numbers. To practise saying numbers why not prepare some questions for your class. E.g. What is the school’s telephone number? What is the number of the local cinema? Of course the test comes during feedback when the students say the numbers correctly or otherwise.

Prepare a list of names of famous people, perhaps not so famous. Tell your students to find the following information as quickly as possible, Where is … from? In which country is …. from? Make sure that the responses distinguish between country name and nationality.

Unit 9
Families

Type family+phographs in any search engine and there’s sure to be a good selection of photographs from various families. Prepare some questions and ask your students to find the answers as quickly as possible. For example: where are they from? How old are they?
